The Library/Information Technology program is designed to prepare individuals for employment as a para-professional in a public, school, academic or special library or information center.

Graduates of the Library/Information Technology program may be employed in a school library or in the public service or technical division of a public library. They could manage a small library or work in a museum or corporate facility. Opportunities may also be found in bookstores, publishing, hospitals or computerized information facilities. Duties and responsibilities vary.

Students desiring to become media specialists, librarians, information specialists, or other library professionals should consult with the program faculty regarding courses of study to prepare for the required master's degree.

American Library Association (ALA) ALA has several divisions that may be of interest to future Library Technicians:
